Youth Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Mental Health First Aid Training
The Youth Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Mental Health First Aid course teaches participants how to provide initial support to an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander young person who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis, until professional support is received of the crisis resolves.
This course is developed for any adult (aged 18+) to attend to gain knowledge, understanding and strategies to better support our young mob in the community with their mental health.
Participants will gain a 3-year accreditation as a recognised Mental Health First Aider upon completion of the training.
The training is available in the following Durations and Formats:
Face to Face:
- 2 x 7-hour sessions over 2 days and up to 2 extra modules (up to an additional half day) to tailor the course to the needs of the participants.
- $350-$400 (depending on venue, catering availability) per participant – minimum of 6 participants.
Blended Face-to-Face:
- Self-paced eLearning (7 hours), followed by a 5-hour face-to-face session.
- $300 per participant – minimum of 6 participants.
Blended online:
- Self-paced eLearning (7 hours), followed by a 5-hour video conferencing (TEAMS) session.
- $290 per participant – minimum of 6 participants.
Group bookings available:
- Community funded opportunities may be available.
